He stated that PAMCO is committed to strengthening product quality, processing technology, value-added, market expansion, and providing a comprehensive supply chain for exporting meat, livestock products, and agricultural products to local markets. The company will provide training and technical assistance for the integrated meat and agricultural production chain. At PAMCO's slaughterhouse, over 6,000 small animals and 600 large animals are slaughtered daily, and the meat products are hygienically processed using the latest technology and modern machinery.
LCCI President Malik Tahir Javan praised PAMCO's performance and efforts in promoting animal husbandry and expressed full support for the company. LCCI is ready to collaborate with PAMCO in organizing seminars.
He stated: "Despite numerous challenges, the livestock sector has the potential to contribute significantly to the country's economic growth. Livestock is the largest rural economic activity and a major source of income for women. The livestock sector is already producing its own energy through biogas. The government should work with the private sector to secure a larger share of the international halal trade. Global meat demand is projected to double over the next two decades, and Pakistan has all the resources to become a global leader in this particular sector. Halal food has become a multi-billion dollar global economy, of which Pakistan's share remains negligible. Now is the opportune time for Pakistan to create a global halal economy by tapping into the potential of halal food."
