Armenia: First Halal certification office opened in Armenia

The first World Halal Organization certification office was opened today in Yerevan, Armenia. It will assess whether Armenian-made food products meet Iranian standards, boosting demand for Armenian products and increasing customer traffic.

“This is something we have worked on together. We took the initiative to give businesses the opportunity to get halal certification in Armenia, making the process more attractive and easier for them.”StreamHe told reporters at the opening ceremony.
He added that the establishment of an office in Yerevan was only the first step and that it was agreed that, if necessary, these offices would be opened around Armenia, first in the southern region bordering Iran.
In turn, the office directorAbdul Hussein Farharisaid they have been working in Armenia for two years and have provided halal certificates to two slaughterhouses.
“The purpose of establishing the Halal office in Armenia is to cater to the needs of Muslim tourists and help Armenian farmers export their products to Muslim countries,” he said.
