The meaning of Halal

What is Halal? Halal means permitted or legal. Therefore, when we talk about halal food, we mean food that is permitted for consumption according to halal law. In other words, any food must comply with halal law to be considered halal.

Halal certification

Food is certified by a certification system to ensure that it does not contain any prohibited ingredients. The certification body issues a Halal certificate to prove that the food meets Halal requirements.

What is Haram

The antonym of Halal (forbidden).

Food is halal if it contains:

Alcohol

Meat or other products from unauthorized animals, such as pigs, any other omnivorous animals, or carnivorous birds.

Animals, meat or other products not slaughtered according to the correct halal slaughtering method.

According to Shariah, if you have to eat it for survival (not because of disobedience), it is permissible (halal).

For example, beef, mutton, and poultry. These animals must be slaughtered in a manner permitted by Islamic principles, which is called halal slaughter.
