2025-05-15

Recently, a promotional event for the "Hunan (Changsha) International Halal Food Industrial Park" was held in Xining, Qinghai, hosted by the Hunan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Changsha Municipal Government, and the Hunan Xiangjiang New District Administrative Committee. Zhang Wei, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the event and delivered a speech. Dai Zhongya, Director of the Ningxiang Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee, gave a keynote presentation on the Hunan (Changsha) International Halal Food Industrial Park. Udong Wongwiwachai, Executive Vice Minister of Industry of Thailand, also attended the event.

At the meeting, Ningxiang Economic Development Zone and the Hunan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly build the Hunan (Changsha) International Halal Food Industrial Park, signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Malaysia-China Muslim Chamber of Commerce, Qinghai Haidong Industrial Park, etc., signed a cooperation agreement with the Qinghai (Hunan) Chamber of Commerce, and signed regional cooperation agreements with Gannan Prefecture, Gansu, Shanshan County, Xinjiang, and Yunlong County, Yunnan.

The "Hunan (Changsha) International Halal Food Industrial Park" project will construct an international halal food park in accordance with the functional layout of "one museum and four zones", including five major functional sections: the Halal Food Culture Expo Hall, the Halal Food Production and Processing Zone, the Halal Food Exhibition and Trade Zone, the Halal Food Storage and Logistics Zone, and the Halal Life Service Zone.

To effectively address the bottleneck in the development of halal food, the Ningxiang Economic Development Zone partnered with Hong Kong's Dajia International Group, a professional service platform for international halal certification, to establish a Halal Food Alliance, leveraging the globally recognized halal certification. The zone also actively guided food companies to seize new development opportunities, leading to the emergence of companies such as Hunan Tea Group and Hunan Grain Group, which are interested in accelerating halal certification in their traditional food sectors.

"In the next step, the park will carry out strategic cooperation with northwestern provinces, initiate the establishment of the Hunan branch of halal certification and the joining of the Halal Standards Alliance; carry out labor export cooperation for Muslim workers and establish a halal talent training center; rely on the park's "Hunan Products Out of Hunan" trade platform, Changsha Dahexi Agricultural Products Logistics Center and the park's comprehensive e-commerce platform, and the 100 billion dealer alliance to achieve resource aggregation and supporting optimization." Dai Zhongya said.
