1. Food and agricultural product import and certification authorities

II. Imported food and agricultural products requiring certification in Jordan

Jordan1998Customs Law31Article 12 stipulates that customs declarations must include the following: First, a list of cargo shipped by sea or air. Second, a commercial invoice including valuation, weight, freight and insurance, etc. All invoices should be notarized by the Jordanian diplomatic mission at the place of origin, or authenticated by the local chamber of commerce, and then deemed valid with the consent of the Jordanian customs. Third, a notarized original certificate issued by the relevant local authorities of the exporter. According to Article 3 of this regulation, Jordanian customs ports require relevant certification for food and agricultural products imported into Jordan. Currently, the food and agricultural products that require certification mainly include: milk powder, flavored milk, beef, processed meat, poultry, fish, cheese, honey, fruits and vegetables, etc. Among them, beef, various processed meats and poultry need to be issued.(HALAL)Halal certification is required to ensure that the slaughtering procedures comply with Islamic traditional customs.
