UAE announces World Halal Food Expo to be held annually

Dubai's Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the annual World Halal Food Exhibition.
Sheikh Mohammed also ordered the expansion of the exhibition, given that it is the first gathering of its kind in the region and the world and has been clearly accepted by manufacturers, dealers and international investors.
The order was issued during Sheikh Mohammed's visit to the Islamic World Food Exhibition, in preparation for the Gulf Food Exhibition 2014.
Helal Saeed Al Merri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre, briefed Sheikh Mohammed on various aspects of the exhibition. Al Merri said the exhibition represents a gateway for investors entering the industry, whether manufacturers or distributors. He noted that the inaugural exhibition is part of Dubai's plan to systematically develop the Islamic economy sector, in line with Sheikh Mohammed's vision to develop the Islamic economy, capital financing, and halal food industries in Dubai.
Later, Sheikh Mohammed also visited the Gulf Food Exhibition. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his satisfaction with the economic growth achieved through the exhibition and stressed its importance in the regional and international arena. Published on February 27, 2014
