Exhibition Introduction

The Turkey International Halal Food and Supplies Exhibition is an international trade event that brings together halal product manufacturers, buyers, agents, investors and trade groups from around the world. It aims to promote the trade of halal products, introduce halal products and lifestyles to Muslims around the world, and provide an international marketing platform for halal product merchants to communicate, cooperate and establish win-win partnerships.

The exhibition showcased halal products and services from at least 20 Islamic countries. Due to changes in Turkey's visa policy, more professional buyers will be invited from countries such as Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. This is a massive market with 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide and a consumption value of $2 billion annually. For health reasons, more and more non-Muslims are also embracing halal food. Turkey boasts a market of 70 million Muslims. Istanbul, a European cultural hub, attracted numerous visitors from both China and abroad to attend this prestigious event.

Market Background

Located at the junction of Europe and Asia, Turkey serves as a bridge connecting the two continents. Its proximity to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa provides optimal access to global markets. Turkey covers an area of 814,578 square kilometers and has a population exceeding 70 million. With convenient transportation and a strong market reach reaching over 500 million people, Turkey is listed as one of the world's top ten emerging market countries. In 2008, Turkey's purchasing power reached US$942 billion, ranking its economy 16th in the world and 6th in Eastern Europe. Despite the global economic recession, Turkey still achieved a GDP growth rate of 3.5% in 2008.

Halal food and products have nearly 2 billion consumers worldwide and are gradually becoming a huge industry. Turkey is working hard to reverse its export deficit through the export of halal products. According to authoritative estimates, the total halal food market is approximately US$850 billion, and the total market value of the entire halal industry has reached US$2 trillion.

Under the influence of this overall environment, the International Halal Food and Products Exhibition came into being. The exhibition received strong support from GIMDES (the Institute for Testing and Certification of Food and Consumer Products, the only institution in Turkey authorized to issue Halal product certification), the Global Halal Association Turkey Office and KOSGEB (the Association for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises).
